WHY EVERY BODY IS DRINKING
THESE DRINKS ARE a MUST FOR YOUR NEXT PARTY
No matter if it's a girl's lunch, a barbecue with mates, or an family dinner, there's 3 different stages of any party that you
need to cater for; the starting drinks, the wine, and what's going to make the whole event memorable.
The drinks you choose to begin with will depend on what you're organising or the event your attending. Is it a small gathering of friends, or a larger group and your budget conscience?
Are you in for the long haul at a friend's place or it's your dinner party and you want to make sure you don't run out?
You always need a finishing drink, whether it's a cleansing ale, a crisp gin & tonic, or sweet wine to finish off the perfect evening.
These arE our picks
White Wine - Social & Dinner
Red Wine - Barbecue & Dinner
We will start with the Beer, because that takes care of the blokes. No matter what event they're attending, they just want to drink something that's clean and refreshing. This also applies with the girl's, something that doesn't bloat, around the 5% alcohol and smashable. Girl's can bang it out just as quick as the guys, and if they're at the same party they're probably hanging out with each other.
We recommend the Estrella Galicia 250ml 'Throwbacks' and just in case you don't want to run out, choose the 3+1 pack for imported beer at only $2.01 per bottle, a bargain!
Sparkling wine is a given, but you don't want to spend that much on French and you don't want to waste your money on badly made Prosecco. Spanish Cava is the only way to go. It's a fiesta, remember.
Girls love a light pink Rose that's dry, because that's what they keep telling us, 'Dry Rose' and this is our pick.
Lastly, there should always be an aperitif or pre-dinner cocktail and our pick is La Sueca 'Sangria'. in 1 litre bottles. Just pour over Ice and it's done.
We love a good drop, something light and fresh to begin with, something complex and bolder to finish. We also like to buy packages that covers both white and red without breaking the bank.
These are our picks...
We recommend an Albarino for the casual get-together, something expressive, fresh and easy drinking. For dinner, we want a well-weighted wine, then this Macabeo from near Barcelona is the perfect choice.
If it's a larger party, then choose our BUY 12 and 6 get bottles free. You will be drinking a delicious white Godello (not Verdelho) from Northern Spain and a light Mencia red that is just as good as any Pinot Noir for the same price.
Lastly, if it's a barbecue or a dinner, then we think something robust and full bodied is appropriate. We can't go past the Single Estate OPTA, a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah & Cabernet. You wish you ordered more.
